Culture 2025: A National Cultural Policy Framework to 2025

Culture and creativity are not just the responsibility of one Government Department. Because they are integral to all aspects of Irish life, they are embedded in all aspects of public policy and therefore of most Government departments and many agencies and bodies. This ‘all-of-Government’ approach is at the heart of Culture 2025 and of the policy framework it sets out. The role of the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will be pivotal. On one axis it will work with other departments to enshrine the values and objectives of Culture 2025 and advance agendas of common concern. On the second axis it will oversee and support the work of the various specialist cultural agencies and institutions as they develop policies, programmes and provision in their areas of responsibility.
